Listening to Cinema
Cinema uses sound to encourage and guide interactions, to complement the visual information, and to give rhythm and dimension to the experience. While often given a secondary status, the sound design of a film (voice, music, and sound effects) engages viewers perceptually, providing key spatial and story information, and affords an aesthetic experience of its own.

WATCH - Sound Design for A Quiet Place
For a movie with such unique sounds and audio like “A Quiet Place” these foley artists had to do things a little differently. Rather than focusing on making everyday sounds like footsteps more audible, the sound designers on the film focused on a “less is more” approach.
